Tanjung Puting National Park

DAY 1 : Aiport – Kumai – Tanjung Puting

On arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, we will pick you up and then drive to Kumai by taxi (approximately 30 minutes), passing several villages. Upon arrival in Kumai, boat up the river to explore the great mangrove, nipah palm, and wildlife along the Sekonyer river while lunch is prepared on the boat. Visit Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center to witness feeding time around 3 pm. Late afternoon, observe the proboscis monkey and other primates along the river. The boat is traditional boat wooden river boat with roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. Simple mattresses, pillows, meals, bottled mineral water, mosquito nets, simple toilet and shower are available on boat. Overnight on the boat. (L, D)

DAY 2 : Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey – Nipa Area

After early breakfast, boat up to Pondok Tanggui Camp to witness orangutan feeding around 9 am. Upon arrival at Pondok Tanggui, we walk to feeding area. After orangutan feeding, we can take a short trekking in the forest then proceed to Camp Leakey which takes about 1,5 – 2 hours by boat. After lunch, you will have a chance to take another short trekking or see information center before witnessing orangutans’ feeding time around 2 pm.
After visiting Camp Leakey, we boat down slowly to Nipa Palm Area where you can see beautiful fireflies at night when the weather is good. On the way there, we can still observe the monkeys, birds, and other animals. Dinner and sleep on the boat. (B, L, D)

DAY 3 : Kumai – Pangkalanbun Airport

After breakfast, boat down to Kumai and then transfer by car to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. Tour ends. (B)

Tanjung Puting National Park

Day 1 : Airport – Kumai – Tanjung Harapan

(The tour start at 11.00)
On arrival at Pangkalan Bun airport, we will pick you up and then drive to Kumai by taxi (approximately 30 minutes), passing several villages. Upon arrival in Kumai, boat up the river to explore the great mangrove, nipah palm, and wildlife along the Sekonyer river while lunch is prepared on the boat.
Prepare your self for the first encounter with the Orangutan, after short trekking in Borneo Jungle we will meet the giant ape in Tanjung Harapan Camp. Get your camera ready, not only during the feeding, sometimes we could see the wild Orangutan swinging between the tree on our way.
Late afternoon, observe the view and animals along the river. We could do night trekking (Optional), Overnight on the boat. (L, D)

DAY 2 : Jungle Trekking – Camp Leakey

After breakfast, boat up the river to Camp Leakey. It is a research center where the older orangutans are reintroduced to the rain forest. After that, you may go for Jungle trekking in the rainforest to see more in the jungle and to spot other wildlife.
Go back to the boat for lunch and trek to feeding station and then see the orangutans being fed around 2 pm. Back to the boat and cruising down the river to find the spot for anchoring. Overnight on the boat. If
weather permitted we could do a night trekking. (B, L,D).

DAY 3 : Pondok Tanggui – Tanjung Harapan

After breakfast, boat down the river to Pondok Tangguy which is a rehabilitation center for the excaptive orangutans and see feeding time around 9 am. You can also plant a baby tree there.
In the afternoon, visit Tanjung Harapan rehabilitation center to witness another feeding time around 3 pm. After that, you may visit a village near the national park to see and experience the daily life of local people. Boat down the river to the Nipah palm area where you can see the beautiful fireflies when the weather is good. Overnight on the boat. (B, L, D)

DAY 4 : Kumai – Pangkalan Bun

After breakfast, boat down to Kumai and then transfer by car to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. Tour ends. (B) (The tour end at 9am)

Day 1 : Pangkalan Bun Airport – Kumai – Tanjung Puting

Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be picked up by our guide and transferred to Kumai. Boat up the river to explore the great mangrove, nipah palm, and wildlife along the Sekonyer river while lunch is prepared on the boat. DAY 3 : Nipa Area – Kumai – Kudangan Village

After early breakfast, boat down to Kumai then drop your luggage at a local hotel before driving to Kudangan Village which takes about 5 hours. Pass several villages, palm oil plantation, rubber plantation, local community’s plantation and forest. We will stop for lunch on the way. Upon arrival at Kudangan Village, we will take you to the longhouse for your accommodation. You will have a chance to walk around the village and observe the daily life there. After dinner, the villagers will hit their gong or play one of their musical instruments and gather together for a simple welcome ceremony. Expect a lot of people to join in. Overnight at longhouse. DAY 4 : Kudangan Village-Trekking – Pangkalan Bun – Hotel

After breakfast, we can go to the forest and trek about for several hours. The villagers in this village reject the palm oil plantation so the forest surrounding is still in good condition. After packing your luggage, drive back to Pangkalan Bun by car. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun, transfer to hotel. Free program at your own leisure. Overnight in at the hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 5 : Hotel – Pangkalan Bun Airport

AirportAfter breakfast, transfer by car to Pangkalan Bun airport for your next destination. (B)
